Erzsebet Pince Betsek Dulo 2022

This is another beautifully made wine by Erzsebet Pince from a historic grand cru - Betsek Dulo. Only 800 bottles of this wine were made. 85% Furmint and 15% Kabar, the wine was partly fermented in Hungarian oak, and then then further aged in Hungarian oak for 7 months. Don't let the pale colour of this wine fool you, it is quite an opulent wine. Primary characteristics of pineapple (typical to this terroir), and strong salinity. The oak influence is not overpowering, but there is some definite toastiness and a gentle spice. It has full mouth-feel, and and endless finish. This would pair extremely well with fish, chicken, or any buttery dishes. But it would also go well with SE Asian flavours, including sweet and sour dishes.
