Pelle Kiraly Peszgo (Sparkling) 2020

Marianna and Laszlo Pelle have have used 100% furmint grapes from their prime vineyard (Kiraly - or King, an old Grand Cru of Tokaj) to make this sparkling wine in the champagne method. Most winemakers in the region reserve these vineyards for their aszu (sweet botyritised) wines. The quality here really shines, and experts regard this as one of the best sparkling wines of Tokaj, and potentially Hungary. This sparkling wine was fermented in oak barrels, and then similarly to vintage champagne, has spent over 3 years on its lees before disgorging.
